Two TUBITAK 2209-A student projects under the supervision of our department lecturer Ass. Prof. Kaan Hürkan, two TÜBİTAK 2209-A student projects were deemed worthy of support. In the project to be carried out by Özlem Menteş, associate degree student of the Department of Laboratory and Veterinary Health, the gene map of the geographically marked Iğdır Apricot (Prunus armeniaca cv. Şalak) will be revealed by mitochondrial genome sequencing, and in the project to be carried out by Özgüç Güneş, undergraduate student of the Department of Plant Protection, the effects of spraying on bacterial flora in the Geographically Marked Iğdır White Grape (Miskalı) fruit will be determined by metabarcoding method. Our students will be given the opportunity to work in the Molecular Genotyping Laboratory of our department during their project studies, and they will be given scientific counselling to achieve successful results in their projects. Thus, our students will be able to gain laboratory experience in molecular biology and biotechnology while continuing their undergraduate education and become advantageous in terms of job opportunities after graduation.
