The proposal files prepared by the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology regarding the opening of a Master of Science Programme were examined at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting on 08 August 2019. According to the Meeting Decision, in accordance with Articles 4 and 7 of the Regulation on the Organisation and Operation of Graduate Schools, it has been deemed appropriate to open a Master's Programme in Agricultural Biotechnology with Thesis within Iğdır University Institute of Science and Technology.
In this context, as of the Spring Semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year, the first Master's student with thesis was accepted to the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology programme with the decision of the Academic Board of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology dated 11.02.2020 and numbered 01.
Students who successfully complete the Master's Programme with Thesis in the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology will be entitled to receive the title of Agricultural Master Engineer in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology by completing theoretical and applied R&D studies in the basic fields of Crop Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Enzyme and Microbial Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Molecular Genetics, Biodiversity and Genetic Resources.
