The infrastructure strengthening works of our University, which is specialised in the field of ‘High Value Added Agricultural Products’, continue without interruption.
Within the scope of these studies, the Laboratory of the Biotechnology Department of the Faculty of Agriculture of our University was established.
University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı Alma, Faculty of Agriculture staff and students attended the opening ceremony of the laboratory.
In this fully equipped laboratory of our university, many analyses from DNA to RNA and protein amount can be performed with the latest technology equipment.
Genomic, Transcriptomic, Protomic and Epigenomic studies are aimed to make significant contributions to the market and the people in the region.
Rector Alma "Laboratory Studies Should Be Common and Multidisciplinary"
Speaking at the opening ceremony and emphasising the historical importance of laboratories, Rector Alma said, ‘Laboratories are important areas that are open to the use of all researchers and allow interdisciplinary studies. We should make the best use of the opportunities to provide more advanced services by continuing joint studies in these areas.’
At the end of his speech, Rector Alma wished the laboratory to be beneficial and emphasised that he believes that these units will make great contributions to regional development.
‘Three specialised projects worth 10.000.000 TL are being carried out’
Providing information about the specialised projects carried out at our university, Head of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adnan Aydın stated that three specialised projects with a budget of approximately 10.000.000 TL are currently being carried out and that significant contributions will be made to the Iğdır economy with the finalisation of these projects.
Aydın concluded his speech by expressing his thanks to Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı Alma, Rector of our University, who has a great contribution to the formation of the laboratory infrastructure.
