The 4th EPI-CATCH Conference, organised by European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) within the scope of the Epigenetic Instruments of Crop Adaptation To Climate Change (EPI-CATCH) action coded CA19125 for 2020-2024, was held in Novi Sad, Serbia between 4-6 June this year. At the conference attended by researchers working in the field of plant epigenetics within the scope of the action, our department faculty member Ass. Prof. Dr. Kaan Hürkan presented ‘High Technology Methylation Detection Method for Epigenetic Analysis: High Resolution Melting’ at the conference. Hürkan explained the High Resolution Melting technique used in the detection of methylation, an epigenetic mechanism in flowers, and received support for collaboration with researchers working in similar fields to further develop this technology in laboratory studies.
